Message: Part 1 saw "List and learn" (the Act 1 opening number) from The Gondoliers, followed by "With aspect stern" (the Act 1 finale) from The Mikado.
Part 2 was the Worcester G&S society's presentation of Potted Pirates, comprising most of the "big" numbers from Pirates, all in very splendid costume. This was condensed from their January performance of the full production.
Well, I enjoyed the whole evening. Part 1 was new to me, and was sung extremely well. Part 2 was most enlightening, having been in our recent production last year. The girls costumes were particularly elegant. And as for the singing, well I did have to stop myself from singing along!
BTW, I recognised Jo Williamson (playing Ruth) from our Ruddigore presentation in 2003.
Finally, their next production is Iolanthe, running 20-24 September at the Swan Theatre, Worcester.
